I love to paint! Daddy bought me my first art easel when mommy left us and I've been painting every since! It's really fun and I'm getting pretty good at it.....I want to study art when I go to college and maybe even open up an art gallery one day! Daddy's been seeing this new woman named Kylie and I like her! She's not like the other women my daddy was seeing. I know he thinks I get upset because he's not with mommy anymore, but I'm not a baby! I understand and I just want my dad to be happy again..........

Kylie has been sleeping over now and it's so much fun! She has all these funny stories about her son Donte and about her job and she listens to me when I talk about school and all my friends. She's the nicest woman my dad ever brought home! I hope she sticks around......

I've been doing better and better in school and brought home my first A+! Dad was so proud! I couldn't believe it! I really like going to school and learning. I know some kids don't, but I don't understand why not..........there's so many things that I don't know out there! I want to learn them all!

Kylie brought her son Donte over with her to meet us. I overheard him and daddy talking outside about marriage.......is daddy going to marry Kylie? Oh, I hope so! It would be so much fun having a mom! My mom wasn't very nice and she didn't like to play like Kylie does.........I hope he marries her!

Donte is alot of fun just like his mom! I hope he can be my brother one day. He doesn't pick on me just because I'm smaller than him. He's not really that into art like I am, but he said he can see why I like painting. He doesn't really have any hobbies and I told him he should get one! What does he do when he's not studying?!

We all sat down and ate together and I got to stay up late! We all get along really well and I hope we become a family one day. How cool would that be? I'd have a mom AND a big brother! I use to ask dad about having another baby but he always looked so scared when I said it! So I guess I'll never get a baby brother or sister..........
Kylie even reads me a bedtime story sometimes at night. Her and Donte didn't stay over that night because we didn't have anywhere for Donte to sleep. Our house is pretty small and is just enough for me and dad. But we could always just buy another house.............

Dad goes outside and plays kicky bag with Donte while they talk. Donte wanted to make sure that my dad was really serious about his mom. I guess Donte's dad wasn't a very nice person because everytime Donte talks about him he frowns. But my dad would never be mean to his mom. Dad promised Donte that he really cares about Kylie and only wants her to be happy......isn't he the greatest?

They're always kissing and holding hands and making goo goo eyes at each other! I finally pulled dad aside one day and told him that he was wasting time with Kylie. We could all be one big happy family if he would just marry her! He told me that he wasn't really ready to get married again, but he and Kylie had talked about maybe doing another kind of arrangement..........

They got a house together! Me, dad, Kylie, and Donte are all going to be living in the same house! I'm so excited! I kinda wish they were getting married so she would be my real mom, but I'm happy that we're all going to be staying together. I even get a bigger room and a better art easel too!!!
Kylie spends alot of time studying up on stuff. I didn't know that because she's all fun when she use to come to our house. She really takes her job seriously and she has made alot of money doing it. Dad had to get a small loan to help get furniture for the house, but his and Kylie's savings were enough to buy it! Kylie is really smart! She has to be..........

See, Kylie is a surgeon! She saves lives! That's a really big job and that's why she has to study all the time to make sure she knows what she's doing so people don't die. I think it's so cool that people have to call her Dr. Conaway!!! How amazing is that? Maybe I should go to med school instead..........

Donte got a pretty cool room too. He has a tv and a gaming station in it. I would rather have my easel than a game! Donte is really nice and he helps me with stuff. It's like we've always lived together........I really thought my dad was never going to meet a nice woman. But I think he got it right this time....... My dad has been getting lots of promotions with the police department. He's going to be chief one day! He and Kylie like to sit down and talk about their day since they get off at about the same time. Kylie's been working really hard lately so she can get promoted too..........

Donte has a crush on Cassie Carmichael! She's like two years older than him! Cassie's really nice. I hang out with her brother TJ alot. He's my best friend........but now he's in junior high school so I don't know it he'll even want to play with my any more.......daddy says that he will but I don't know.......daddy thinks everyone always likes me!

Donte has been helping me out with my homework since my dad is studying up for his next promotion. He's a dectective now, but he doesn't want to stop there. See how nice Donte is? He takes time out to help me when he has his own homework to do!

Sometimes dad and Kylie study together. I really hhope they get married one day. I want Kylie to be my mommy. I want her name to be like mine.......but I guess all that really matters is daddy's happiness.........and I think he finally found some........


*Jocelyn is too cute! I can't wait to see what she's going to look like as a teen.......Milton got the ROS move someone in (lover, friend, family). Of course, Kylie was the perfect choice. She's the only sim he has more than one bolt with! I really want these two to get married and maybe have a kid together. The Arnold name is a dying one! But neither of them have wants to get married so I guess I'll just have to wait and see........ Just an FYI: Kylie moved in with like 20000 simoleons! But she is a surgeon so I guess she would have that kind of cash! I'm with Jocelyn, Milton picked a good one this time!

A New Lady

Round 2 - Summer 2023

Life is definitely funny sometimes. I guess it's true that you have to be careful what you wish for! The mystery woman that I met on Crystal Bay Island finally gave me something other than "Eve" for a name. Her name is Jill Smith and although she's older, she's not much better than Aundrea was!Jocelyn is doing amazing things with her art and I couldn't be more proud of her. You wouldn't even know they were painted by a 6 year old! She really is an amazing little girl.......she gets it from me!

She was doing so well that I decided that we should have a special meal out, just me and my girl. I was working alot and so she was having to stay at home with the nanny since school was out for summer. It would be nice if she had some female influence around. I mean, I do my best but I AM a guy!

I took her to Macaroni's Fine Dining restaurant. She wanted to dance to the classical music they had playing while we waited to be seated. Not exactly what you should do in an upscale restaurant, but I find it hard to say no to her! Ann Marie Carmichael comes in and just smiles at us as she walks by.

She had been begging to go see the latest Simney movie that came out and I promised her that I would take her to see it before the summer was over. I don't know what I did to get such an awesome daughter, but I'm glad it happened. Joy doesn't know what she's missing out on by not being around. It's such a shame.......

Joci went over to the Carmichaels house to play with TJ and I decided to call Ms. Jill Smith over to my house. I don't know, it was just something about her. Something in her eyes......it wasn't really something good.......but not really bad either......she had so much passion and fire in her eyes......
She came over and automatically came straight into my arms.....I knew it was probably a bad sign that we were moving so fast and we hadn't known each other that long. I mean that's what happened with Aundrea too.......but I'm a hard headed man and I have to learn the hard way sometimes!

And so the obvious happened. But I felt something.....then again, I always do........something in my wiring just won't let me have casual woohoo.......my heart always seems to get involved.....but Jill wasn't looking for anything permanent. In fact, she was completely turned off by Jocelyn......and of course that will present a problem. We both dozed off and when I woke up she was gone. I have heard from her since then......not that I'm surprised........

About a month went by with no word from her and Nickoli was tired of seeing me mope around. He was so happy with his girlfriend Amanda, who I introduced him to, that he felt he should return the favor. Enter Ms. Kylie Conaway. Kylie is a beautiful woman with a wonderful sense of humor. She has a teenage son of her own so I know she likes kids. She seemed to be just wonderful, but doesn't everyone in the beginning of things?

We spent a few nights getting to know each other and things were going well. Jocelyn was spending the week with one of her friends so she hadn't been around and Kylie told me she wanted to meet her. Well that was a first! I just knew I was on the road to something good!

So the next week, Kylie comes over so she can get to know Jocelyn. Joci meets her at the door with a big smile and invites her in. She's a pretty good judge of character so I knew if Joci gave her a seal of approval, then she was ok.
Jocelyn gets excited when she talks about school and can go on and on about it, but Kylie sat and listened very attentively to her. Well that was enough! They talked for over an hour about everything under the sun; school, Kylie's son Donte, and Joci's love of art. It was time for her to go to bed and she whined about how she wanted to stay up and talk to Kylie.

I went in to read her a bedtime story and I looked up to see that Kylie had walked in to listen too. It was obvious that she was great with kids and I looked forward to meeting her son. It amazes me how sometimes life changes so abruptly from day to day. I would never have thought I would meet a woman like Kylie.
After I finished the story, we went out into the living room and I was taken aback with just how beautiful she really is. And that seems to be inside and out. I know it seems like I'm moving fast, but I'm not getting any younger. It can get pretty lonely sometimes. Even Jocelyn asks why I don't find a nice woman. I think she just wants a mom around though......
It was getting pretty late and I knew that Kylie would need to hit the road soon. But I wasn't ready for her to leave. I considered asking her to stay, but I was afraid she would say no. I mean we hadn't known each other that long and it would be moving a little too fast. But her son was away at a camp and she was home alone so........

I actually should have gone with my first conclusion. I got up the courage and asked her to stay and she let me know that she wasn't "that kind" of woman. I explained that I wasn't expecting her to do anything, for Simgod's sake, Jocelyn was in the house! I just didn't want our time to end and wanted her to stay. I even offered to give her the bed and I would sleep on the couch.

She took my hand and we laid down on my walk way and looked up at the stars. She explained that she had moved to fast with Donte's father before finding out what kind of man he was and he ended up getting locked up for drugs. She had no idea that he was involved in it because he actually held a regular job. She basically had to raise Donte on her own, similar to what I'm doing with Jocelyn. I pulled her close and let her know that I knew exactly how that felt and that I wasn't trying to rush her into anything. I just liked having her around. Even Joci liked her. She agreed to stay and even let me sleep in the bed as long as I promised not to try anything. She wants to take things slow.

It was the most peaceful night I've had in a very long time. Slow. There's a novel idea........now why didn't I think of that? I've been trying to rush into something, trying to jump right into a relationship......but there's something to be said for taking things slow..........

*I don't like these in game camera pics.....UGH! So I'm going to have to give gadwin another chance. I didn't think the difference would be so noticeable, but it is to me! I had every intention of letting Milton pursue something with Jill Smith, but then he met Kylie and things took off on their own accord. She is the ONLY woman he has come into contact with who he has had 2 bolts! I couldn't pass that up! He's so picky and doesn't like anyone but he likes her! Kylie is a townie I created and I did create a teen named Donte who is her son. Since I have seen, as with Carla and Candi, that they keep their relationships, I decided to include Donte in the story as well.

She's Growing Up Too Fast!!!

I'm not the best at doing a little girl's hair. Ok, I'm the worst at it. So I decided to take Jocelyn to Crystal Springs Island to get her a little make-over. Soon as I did that, little boys were coming over to play. She's getting attention and she's only 5 years old! So what happens when she turns into a teenager? But I'm a cop, I have a gun!

I mean the little boy is about her age, so I know he couldn't be thinking thoughts like I'm thinking that he's thinking. But I still don't like boys hanging around Joci. I don't think TJ Carmichael likes it much either! I'm still surprised that TJ even wants to hang out with Jocelyn. He's nine. Nine year olds don't usually want to play with 5 year olds! Jocelyn has that magic about her, just like her mother.........life is not fair......

I've been cooped up for a long time, and finally broke down and called a sitter for Jocelyn so I could go out for a few hours. I went to a really nice restaurant on the island. I don't know, maybe me and Jocelyn should move out here. But I'm sure they're little boys here too, huh?

As I was leaving, I ran into a very pretty lady. She seemed to be in a bad mood, so I thought I would lighten her day.

"I'm sorry. I was just so taken with how beautiful you are that I didn't watch where I was going."

"Really? I could believe that, or I could believe you're just a clumsy oaf!"

"Ok, I guess you got me there," I said laughing. "What's your name?"

"Why do you want to know?" she asked.

"Because when I give you this phone number, I need to know who to expect to call," I said.

"So you just walk up to random women in restaurants and give out your phone number?"

"No, only to the special ones."

"You're cheesy, you know that? Must have been out of the dating game for a while huh?"

"You have no idea! I'm Milton."

"Ok, Milton. For now, you can call me Eve," she said.

"Oh, the woman made for man?"

"No, the woman that was the downfall of man," she said and took the napkin with my number on it and walked away.

The downfall of man? Was that a warning? I really am out of touch with dating. How stupid were those pick up line? I mean my Simgod! Oh well, maybe she will call and I can find out what she meant by that comment. Or maybe she won't call and I can walk around feeling like a heel for the next few weeks.......

Guess who called right as I was walking through the door? Ms. Eve herself! Guess my lines weren't so bad after all!!!


*Hopefully I cleverly covered up the fact that I forgot Milton's love interest's name! This is why I have to catch up! Anywho, the mystery lady is a romance sim (I didn't find that out until it was too late!) so it should be a very interesting little match up......we'll see how it goes next round! Another short one, but again, I thought Milton could tell it better than me.

Mini-Update


Not much happened this time in the Arnold household. Jocelyn is becoming a very popular kid! The phone rings all the time for her and she's not even a teen yet! Most of the time it's TJ Carmichael, who I'm guessing is pretty much her bestfriend in Crystal Bay.
They have a nice little nest egg stashed away and to save money, Milton does all of the yardwork. It's cheaper than hiring one of those gardeners! He doesn't enjoy it but he doesn't hate it either. I think he realizes that is a neccessary evil so he doesn't give me any flack about it!

He's still striking out with the women sadly. It's pretty interesting, this internet dating. You're limited to only those few people who are online and the time and you don't know what they look like until after you start a conversation and they are in your people you know panel. It's tough being a single dad!
But he also meets women when he goes out to run errands on his off days when Jocelyn is in school. I figure between these two methods, he'll eventually meet a good woman who he's attracted to. Milton Arnold is extremely picky! But I guess he doesn't want just any woman around his daughter.

The only time he really has free to get away from the house and breathe and do adult things is on his off days when Jocelyn is in school. It's pretty fun trying to balance his time so that he does more than play with his daughter. Before I would have just hired a nanny and let him do whatever he wanted! But this is more true to life and more challenging.

No matter how little adult time he gets, he still has wants to spend quality time with his little girl. It's such a wonderful thing to see!

*I've decided to just do a little mini-update when things are kinda boring in a house. There really wasn't much to capture during their play time. So instead of taking alot of pictures of very dull events, I'll take a couple of highlight pics and give a summary of what happened!

Settling In

Things have become pretty routine around our house. And that's just fine by me! Joy caused so much chaos when she was around that it's actually refreshing to have a break from it all! In the mornings, I head off to my job at the police station and Joci goes to pre-k. I'm so glad that my work schedule allows me to leave and arrive home at the same time as her. I don't have to have some nanny around all the time.

Joci loves school and is really doing very well. She's making lots of friends and seems to be really happy. And of course that makes me happy!

My evenings are spent working out in front of the television. Gotta stay in shape to catch those bad guys! It would be nice to have some female companionship, but I don't want to rush into anything. I have Jocelyn to consider........

She loves painting and will stay in her room all day painting if I let her! But I encourage her to get out and play on the days that she doesn't have school. I want her to be a well-balanced child.

She has become really good friends with Mayor Carmichael's son, TJ. He's a few years older than Jocelyn so I don't know how long this friendship will last once he becomes a teen. I'm not sure I WANT it to last past him becoming a teen! Teenage boys are nothing but trouble!

She's also made some other friends in her pre-K class and many days they all sit around outside have conversations about childish things. I'm glad that she adjusted so well to the separation. I was really very worried that she would hate me for taking her away from the city she had known all of her life.
I sit and watch her sometimes, marveling at how much she looks like her mother. It's amazing. I just hope she doesn't act like her too! But so far, Jocelyn is a sweet, kind little girl with a heart of gold. And maybe living with me will help her maintain that sweet heart. Who knows.......

Yes, her and the Carmichael kid are really close. I don't think I like that very much.....but they're kids and I have to remind myself to turn my dad switch off......at least for now anyway.......

I met this really wonderful woman named Aundrea Coleman. She's a student at CBU and I know what you're thinking......I'm a cradle-robber. But I'm really not. Aundrea is just a really fun girl who makes me feel good. And she even wants to meet Jocelyn which is a plus in my book!
I don't think the meeting went too well. Aundrea has obviously not talked to many four-year olds. The effects of pollution on the environment aren't exactly things that concern Jocelyn! But hey, she's cute what can I say?

After Joci goes to bed, it's alone time with Drea! I know she's too young for me and that this will probably not last very long, but a man has needs! I can't be a hermit, you know! I'm not going to parade a bunch of women in and out of here, but I just really needed this......

And Drea was more than willing to oblige me! She really is a sweet girl. But she is in fact a girl and she likes to do girlish things. That part of my life is over........so my little affair with Miss Aundrea Coleman was very short lived, but was a hell of a lot of fun while it lasted!

At the end of the day, the only female I absolutely NEED in my life is Jocelyn Arnold......everyone else is expendable!!!

* It's IMPOSSIBLE to find this guy someone he likes! Aundrea and he only had 1 bolt of attraction. But old Milton grew tired of being celibate because he was my first sim to use the "booty call" feature that comes with ACR! He just couldn't hold out any longer, poor guy! I may have to help him out on the love front!
