Fast Forwarding

Round 2 - Fall 2023

Nickoli Frader is 27, Amanda Lancaster is 25
Narrated by Nickoli

Have you ever taken a step back from your life only to find that it seems to have been fast forwarded? Things have happened so quickly and you have no idea where the time has gone? That's were I am now! A LOT of things have happened in the past year. So many things that I think you would have trouble believing it all! I'm going to try to catch you up.......prepare for a bumpy ride!
I was completely, madly in love with Amanda and was sure that she was the perfect woman for me. Over breakfast one morning I told her that I had special plans for us after work. She was game and excited at the prospect of getting out of the house. We had been spending so much time either preparing for work or being in bed......the latter was my favorite part!
Amanda was managing a fast food restaurant. She hated the job, but it was just a stop in the road to her becoming a great chef. I knew she was always pretty down by the time she got home from work so I was hoping my surprise would work out for the best!
I get home before her and it began raining, which would totally ruin my plans. I wasn't too upset about it because I had gotten yet another promotion at work. I was well on my way to becoming the hot shot lawyer I wanted to be. I quickly showered and changed and waited for Amanda to get home. She also changed and we headed on over to Crystal Bay Park.
We strolled through the park and when we came to the bridge over the pond, I reached for Amanda's hand.
"Amanda, I know we've only known each other for a short time and I know it seems like we're moving too fast at times, but I have never met a woman who makes me feel the way you do. It's like the sun shines down on me everytime I'm lucky enough to see you smile. We've already taken a big step in moving in together, but maybe you'll take an even bigger step with me....."
"Amanda Lynne Lancaster, will you marry me?"
I have never been more afraid in all my life. She could very possibly have told me no.....we were already moving so fast.........
She took the ring out of the box and placed it on her finger. It wasn't the biggest ring in the world, but it was what I could afford at the time.......was that a yes? Would she marry me?
I got my answer when she leaped into my arms screaming "Yes, yes, yes!" No sim on Simearth was happier than I was at that time........Amanda Lancaster wanted to marry me!
We walked down from the bridge and Amanda had the silliest smile on her face. We hadn't known each other that long, but I knew all I needed to know. Amanda was made just for me, no one could tell me anything differently. I loved her and she loved me and the rest would work out itself.
We didn't want an extremely long engagement, but Amanda wanted time to plan out a really nice wedding. She immediately went looking at wedding dresses. I left that up to her; I didn't really care what she wore as long as she said "I do!"
She found the perfect dress and perfect outfit for me and hid them away in one of the extra bedrooms. She didn't want me to see them before the wedding. We were also looking into different places to hold the ceremony. Neither of us knew very many people so it wouldn't have to be a very big space.
The magnitude of what we were about to do hit me one day. I was about to marry Amanda. I was getting promoted at my job, but would I be able to support her if we had kids and she couldn't work? Could we afford to hire a nanny so she could continue to work? Would the apartment be big enough? Would we ever get a house? Did she want one? I was freaking out man!
But I told myself to calm down and breathe. Things would be just fine. I was doing very well, studying up on my cases and I knew I would be promoted again soon. This was going to be just fine. After all, it was just me and Amanda and we had been doing just fine so far. Marriage wouldn't change that!
Amanda caught a bug and was pretty sick. I was really worried about her. She was throwing up all the time and was so tired. There had been a flu going around and we were sure she had caught it.
She went to the doctor and we found out that she was pregnant! Talk about fast forwarding! Inside I was a wreck, but I didn't want her to freak out so I stroked her face and told her everything was going to be fine. We were getting married before this happened and we would have eventually had kids, things were just happening a little faster than expected......it was fine......really.......
It wasn't fine! I was going to become a husband and father all at one time! I didn't know anything about being somebody's daddy! What if I messed the kid up?! But I had to be there for Amanda. She didn't ask for this anymore than I did and I know she was terrifed about having a baby...........oh man.......
So here I am today......I decided to cut off the hair that hung in my face and shave the sideburns off. I'm going to be a new man soon. We pushed the wedding up so we would already be official before the baby comes. Amanda had to get her dress let out because she's showing a baby bump now........hopefully life will slow down soon.........I don't want it to pause, but I can't take much more fast forwarding!

*Long post, I know, but I put them so far down on the rotation that I had to catch up everything! They were having casual woohoo when I heard the baby chimes! I wasn't planning on them having babies so soon, but ah well! They're really too cute together! And I like Nickoli with the shorter hair. I think he looks much better.......the next post is their wedding, I thought I would separate it out so it wouldn't be TOO long!

  3. Shana - yea I love the park too.....I've been downloading lots that my old laptop couldn't run and I just love them! Lots with a lot of trees were so SLOW but now they run so smoothly!

Riverdale - LOL no I wouldn't do that to Nick! He would be devastated if Amanda died!

  5. I think he looked darn adorable before, but the new hair cut is nice too. He is going to be a lawyer, so he needs to look respectable.

The park scene was just lovely.
